Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NSE:LART) rose by 3.80% or 144.00 points, finishing at 3,938.00, and Axis Bank Ltd (NSE:AXBK) gained 3.50% or 46.20 points, closing at 1,366.00 in the final trading hours.
Conversely, the largest decliners included Asian Paints Ltd. (NSE:ASPN), which dropped by 3.79% or 95.30 points, trading at 2,416.50 in the late session. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NSE:SBIL) fell by 2.74% or 56.30 points, ending at 1,996.90, while Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NSE:MRTI) decreased by 2.64% or 393.00 points, closing at 14,484.00.
The leading stocks on the BSE Sensex 30 included Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC), which increased by 4.57% to reach 202.65, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART), which rose by 3.58% to close at 3,929.40, and Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK), which saw a gain of 3.45% to finish at 1,366.00.
Conversely, the underperformers were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN), which declined by 3.71% to 2,417.75 during late trading, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI), which fell by 2.71% to settle at 14,473.00, and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS), which decreased by 1.87% to 3,140.00 at the market’s close.
Declining stocks outnumbered those that advanced by a margin of 1542 to 960, with 48 remaining unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2440 stocks fell while 1583 advanced, and 137 stocks ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.

Similarly, shares of Axis Bank Ltd (NSE:AXBK) also hit all-time highs, rising by 3.50% or 46.20 to 1,366.00. Additionally, shares of Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) achieved all-time highs, gaining 4.57% or 8.85 to 202.65, while shares of Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) rose to all-time highs, up 3.45% or 45.50 to 1,366.00.
The India VIX, which indicates the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, decreased by 1.50% to 13.32.
Gold Futures for April delivery increased by 3.60% or 192.46 to $5,532.66 per troy ounce. In other commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery rose by 1.93% or 1.22 to reach $64.43 per barrel, while the April Brent oil contract increased by 1.77% or 1.19 to trade at $68.56 per barrel.
The USD/INR exchange rate fell by 0.13% to 91.90, while the EUR/INR rate decreased by 0.09% to 109.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures declined by 0.10% to 96.18.
