Coimbatore: Woman IAF officer alleges she was mentally harassed by IAF authorities & was misled

Coimbatore: Woman Air Force officer who has lodged a rape complaint against the flight lieutenant has stated in her complaint that she was threatened by the Air Force authorities to leak her case to the media if she files FIR and no support will be extended from the authorities as the case will be with the civil police.

In the complaint, the woman officer has stated that the authorities have asked her to file a complaint or give in writing that it was consensual and have no complaint to make.

In the written complaint she has also said that during the medical examination at the Air Force hospital, she was subjected to a two-finger test and asked about her past sexual history. She has also accused that the samples collected were not sent for examination even till 20th September.

She also accuses that she was misled on filing a complaint on the issue and states she doubt that evidence in the room where the crime happened was tampered with.

In the complaint, she has narrated how she was sexually assaulted by the flight lieutenant and he was roaming freely on the campus and she alleges that he even informed people about what he did.

Flight lieutenant Amitesh Harmukh was arrested by the Coimbatore All Women police (Central) on Saturday after the woman officer lodged a complaint against him and he has been sent on Judicial custody till September 30. On the 30th, the court will decide whether the accused should be sent on police custody as they have sought custody for 7 days or sent him for court-martial.

Responding to the query made by Mirror Now, the IAF public relations officer has said: “A police case has been registered against an IAF officer at a police station in Coimbatore. The said officer has been arrested. The IAF is cooperating with the police investigation and is also conducting an Inquiry to ascertain the facts.”
